How to Sign Up for Access to Google's New AI-Powered Features Using Google AI Labs

Google I/O 2023 sees the arrival of several new AI-powered features and enhancements that are making their way to the company’s products and services, and the company has begun public previews of some of these features. The company announced handy new AI tools focused on its search service, a Duet AI tool for Workspace apps like Google Docs, and a student app. Now you can try out the new SGE (Search Innovation Experience) that combines search results with conversational AI responses, or auto-generate text snippets with Google Docs and Gmail.

In addition to these two services, you can also try Project Tailwind, touted as the “first AI notebook” that can help students learn. Google will also let you test another service that hasn’t been announced during the Google I/O 2023 keynote, called MusicLM. This tool allows you to create the music you want to hear by providing text prompts.

It’s worth noting that these new features are currently in public preview, and it’s likely that you won’t be able to use them to their full potential. You may also encounter some errors or omissions when trying these services. Finally, AI Labs’ testing is only available in specific regions, so depending on where you live, you may have to wait until Google expands access to your region. Google says that the SGE test is now open to users in the United States.

If you live in a supported area and want to sign up for Google’s AI lab, you can follow these steps to test Google’s upcoming AI-powered services.
